Duncan Seeks Applicants
For Fire and Rescue Commission
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill one public-at-large position on the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Commission. The incumbent intends to apply for reappointment. All applicants must be residents of Montgomery County.
There are seven members of the commission, including two representatives of County career fire/rescue personnel, two representatives of volunteer local fire and rescue department personnel and three representatives of the general public. General public members shall have no personal, family, or business ties to the County career or volunteer fire and rescue service. Members serve three-year terms.
Members receive $8,000 per year in compensation and are required to file financial disclosure statements annually. The commission meets on the second Thursday evening of each month in Rockville with additional meetings scheduled as needed.
Applications must be received by May 18 and should be addressed to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Md 20850. A resume, including work and phone numbers, should be enclosed.
Duncan’s appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
