ASTHMA PARTNERSHIP SPONSORS
FREE ASTHMA SCREENINGS MAY 12

Free asthma screenings will be available on Saturday, May 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Wheaton’s Westfield Shoppingtown and at the Safeway located at 9639 Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg. Asthma Screening Day is sponsored by the Montgomery Asthma Improvement Resources (AIR) Coalition and Adventist Healthcare’s Prevention and Wellness Department.

The asthma screening will include noninvasive pulmonary function testing with interpretation by volunteer physicians. Asthma is the leading cause of hospitalization for children 17 years of age and younger and it is also the leading cause of absence from Montgomery County elementary schools.

The Montgomery AIR Coalition is a community-wide coalition of nearly 50 public, private and non-profit organizations working to help children with asthma lead healthy, active lives.
