Duncan Seeks Applicants
To Fill Noise Control Board Vacancies

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill seven vacancies on the Montgomery County Noise Control Advisory Board. Two of the terms expire in September 2002, one expires in September 2003, and four terms expire in September 2004. Four incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment.

The eleven-member board is mandated by law to advise the County Executive, the County Council, the Planning Board and the Director of the Department of Environmental Protection on noise control issues. The Board reviews and makes recommendations on the effectiveness of the County’s noise control rules and regulations. Members serve three-year terms without compensation and meetings are held the second Monday of every other month in Rockville. Members are required to review related materials prior to meetings.

Applicants should be write by June 15 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume, including home and work phone numbers, should be included. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan’s appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
