Duncan Seeks Applicants For
Housing Opportunities Commission

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on Montgomery County's Housing Opportunities Commission. One term expires in August 2003 and one in August 2004.

The seven-member commission is responsible for building, managing and financing housing for low and moderate income people. Members serve five year terms without compensation.

Commissioners are required to file confidential financial statements yearly. Meetings are usually held the first and third Wednesday evening of each month in Kensington. Additional meetings are scheduled as needed. Members are required to attend at least 75 percent of the scheduled meetings.

Applicants should write by February 9 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume with work and home telephone numbers should be enclosed. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
