Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats
to Perform in Silver Spring
Airborne balancing and juggling, high-flying acrobatics, superhuman coordination and dance will be highlighted during the performance of the Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats, the world's leading Chinese acrobatic troupe, at the J.H. Blake High School Theater in Silver Spring on February 4, at 3 p.m.
The company has performed in more than 65 countries on five continents, including venues such as the Kennedy Center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City, the Seattle Children's festival and Germany's Elspe Festival.
Having been performed for more than 25 centuries, Chinese acrobatics is the "longest running" folk art form in history. The 20 members of the Golden Dragon troupe combine award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes and ancient and contemporary theatrical techniques to present a show marked by skill and beauty.
The performance is presented by Community Concerts of Olney, with support from the County Executive's Office of Community Outreach.
