Free Movies Under the Stars
Shown in Downtown Silver Spring

The public is invited to enjoy some movie classics in an outdoor setting as Silver Screen Under the Stars returns to downtown Silver Spring from July 12 through 15.

The free series will feature “Forbidden Planet” on July 12, “Raiders of the Lost Ark” on July 13, “Babe” on July 14 and “Casablanca” on July 15. The movies will be shown in the lot at the corner of Ellsworth Drive and Georgia Avenue. Refreshments will be available for sale or picnics are welcome, after 8 p.m. A face painter and a clown will entertain the children before the show. Blankets and lawn chairs are suggested.

NBC 4’s movie critic Arch Campbell will kick off the show on July 12.

The Silver Screen Under the Stars series is cosponsored by the Silver Spring Urban District and American Film Institute-Silver Theatre.
