New Ride On Bus Service to Help Residents
During Cabin John Bridge Rebuilding;
Ride On Route 32 Will be Detoured

Starting July 30, new Ride On bus service will operate for four months to help area residents detour around the Cabin John Bridge, which will be closed for restoration by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

A free shuttle service, paid for by the Corps of Engineers, will connect Cabin John to Glen Echo via the Clara Barton Parkway (see map). The shuttle will also connect to Ride On Route 29 (Bethesda Metro to Glen Echo to Friendship Heights Metro). Designated as Ride On Route 32B, the Cabin John shuttle will operate on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 8 to 10 p.m.; on Saturdays from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 7:15 to 9:15 p.m.; and on Sundays from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.

Ride On Route 32 (Naval Ship Research and Development Center to Cabin John to Bethesda Metro), which operates during rush hours, will temporarily be rerouted by the detour. Since the route running time will increased by 10 minutes, a revised schedule eliminates one morning and one afternoon route run. Passengers will still be required to pay the regular Ride On fares on this route.

Bike racks will be available on all the buses used on Route 32 and on the Shuttle.

For more information, call the Transit Information Center at 240-777-RIDE (7433) or check the Ride On web site at www.RideOnbus.com.
