High School Summer Slam
To Be Held At SoccerPlex
Montgomery County high schools students are invited to enjoy an evening of basketball, volleyball, music, activities and prizes at the first Summer Slam to be held on August 11, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Discovery Sports Center at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds. Admission is $4, or $3 with a canned food donation, and includes free tokens for the arcade.
Participants must be Montgomery County students who will be in high school for the 2001-02 year. A school or other ID is required.
To reach the SoccerPlex, take Route 118 off of I-270 toward Germantown and go approximately 2.8 miles. Turn right onto Richter Farm Road, go left onto Schaeffer Road and proceed 0.3 miles to the SoccerPlex entrance on the right.
Summer Slam is an alcohol- and drug-free teen program operated by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation, the Drawing the Line on Under 21 Alcohol Use program and the Youth Advisory Committee. The program is co-sponsored by the Discovery Sports Center and the Department of Recreation.
