Duncan Seeks Applicants For
Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill three vacancies on the Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee. One partial-term vacancy must be filled by a residential community representative in the urban district or within two miles of the urban district. One vacancy must be filled by a representative of a Wheaton area small business that employs fewer than ten employees; and one vacancy must be filled by a large business representative that employs ten or more employees. The incumbent representing large business eligible to apply for reappointment.
The eleven member committee provides information and advice to the Mid-County Regional Services Center regarding promotions, maintenance, service levels, and budgetary guidance for the downtown Wheaton Urban District.
Members serve three-year terms, without compensation and meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Mid-County Regional Services Center, 2424 Reedie Drive, Wheaton, Maryland.
Interested applicants should write to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan no later than August 24 at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume including home and work telephone numbers should be enclosed. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
Duncan’s appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
