County Provides Fans for Needy, Frail Elderly;
Seeks Donated Fans for Distribution

With area temperatures and humidity expected to be in the unhealthy range for the remainder of the week, Montgomery County is distributing fans to frail elderly and needy residents. Eligible residents who are having trouble coping with the heat should contact the Department of Health and Human Services’ Aging and Disabilities Information and Assistance Unit at 240-777-3000.

Montgomery County’s Volunteer and Community Service Center and Manna Food Center are also seeking donations of new or gently used fans (no air conditioners) in good working condition. Persons wishing to donate fans can take them to the Manna Food Center between the hours and 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Manna Food Center is located at 614 Lofstrand Lane in Rockville.
