Little Falls Parkway Reopens
Following Flood Damage
Little Falls Parkway in Bethesda reopened to traffic today. The road has been impassable since Sunday, when it suffered considerable damage as a result of last weekend’s severe rainstorms. Several culverts overflowed and destroyed about 150 feet of the road’s surface.
Although the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC) is responsible for maintaining Little Falls Parkway, Montgomery County’s Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) offered to serve as the project in order to make the needed road repair quickly. DPWT began the work on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Some additional repair work outside the roadway surface will continue on Little Falls Parkway over the next couple of weeks. The construction work will require occasional single lane closures during off-peak hours.
For additional information, call the Division of Highway Services at 240-777-ROAD (7623).
