Snead Named Director of Bethesda-
Chevy Chase Regional Services Center

Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer Bruce Romer has announced the appointment of Deborah J. Snead as the new Director of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center. She will assume her new duties on September 10.

“I am pleased to name Deborah Snead as the new director of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center,” said Romer. “Her knowledge and more than 26 years of experience with Montgomery County will serve the citizens of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area well. We are fortunate that she will fill this key position.”

Snead replaces Gail Nachman who was recently appointed chief policy officer for the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services. In her new position, Snead will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of County government services in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area.

Snead began her career with Montgomery County Government in 1975 as an auditor in the Finance Department. She served for 12 years in the Office of Legislative Oversight working as a program evaluator. In 1989, she joined the Office of the County Executive and has served as an assistant chief administrative officer since 1995, where her duties included serving as liaison to the Legislative branch of government. Recently, Snead led a multi-agency electric deregulation task force that procured energy contracts at a $2.2 million savings.

Snead holds a bachelor’s degree in business and public administration from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Maryland.
