LATIN AMERICAN HERITAGE FAIR
TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 23
Downtown Wheaton will host the Latin American Heritage Fair on Sunday, September 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fair will be held on Reedie Drive, between Veirs Mill Road and Georgia Avenue next to the Wheaton Metro Station.
The focus of this year’s fair will be health, pedestrian safety and Latin American culture. There will be free health screenings, child car seat safety inspections and pedestrian safety information as well as demonstrations on fire safety. Ethnic foods, games, music and children’s activities will also be featured.
In remembrance of the victims of the recent acts of terrorism, a 400-person motorcycle motorcade called the “Red, White and Blue Freedom Ride” will tour the County culminating in Wheaton at approximately 12 noon. At that time, the Wheaton-Kensington Chamber of Commerce and the Wheaton Rescue Squad will collect donations for the Disaster Relief Fund.
The Latin American Heritage Fair is sponsored by Montgomery County and the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad.
