Plans Anniversary Open House
The Special Needs Library, a branch of the Montgomery County Public Libraries, will hold an Open House on October 18, from 1 to 5 p.m., to celebrate two milestones -- the Montgomery County Public Libraries’ 50th anniversary and the Special Needs Library’s 15th anniversary. The library is located at 6400 Democracy Boulevard, on the lower level of the Davis Community Library.
Described as a “treasure trove of accessibility, information and services,” the Special Needs Library is the cornerstone of the County’s commitment to serving the reading and information needs of people with disabilities, family members, students, service providers, and people who are homebound.
The Open House will feature tours and demonstrations of newer adaptive technology for individuals with disabilities. Sign-language interpreters will be provided. The library is accessible for persons with disabilities.
For additional information, contact: Charlette Stinnett, branch manager or Susan Cohen, head of Information Services, at 301-897-2212 (voice) or TTY (teletype) 301-897-2217. Also, visit the Special Needs Library's website at www.montgomerylibrary.org/branchinfo/snmats.asp.
