A half-day training session on October 27 will give interested Montgomery County residents a chance to learn how to prepare their families for a wide range of emergencies – from gas leaks and explosions to hurricanes and winter storms. Offered by Montgomery County’s Office of Emergency Management, Fire and Rescue Services, the Family Disaster & Emergency Preparedness class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Council Office Building, located at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville.
Topics will include what to do if you are without power or water, how to put together a family plan for community emergencies, how to manage your own utilities, where and when to call for help, and the best ways to get additional information about an emergency.
To find out more, or to register for the class, call 240-777-2300.
