To Lead Free Fair/Composting Workshop
Residents can receive a wide variety of recycling information and learn first-hand about compost tumbling units, worm composting, and easy composting techniques at a free recycling and home composting workshop to be held on October 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Audubon Naturalist Society’s (ANS) Woodend Sanctuary, 8940 Jones Mill Rd., Chevy Chase. The workshop is being conducted in conjunction with the ANS’ Fall Birdseed Sale.
Led by the Montgomery County Recycling Volunteer Program, the program will also include composting demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the area near the bookshop. Compost bins will be available from the County for less than $10.
There will also be packets of composting starter material for participants, and a free raffle for innovative compost bins worth $200.
