Spring Guide to Recreation & Leisure
Available week of February 12
The Montgomery County Department of Recreation Guide to Recreation & Leisure, Spring 2001 will be available the week of February 12 at all County libraries, recreation, government, aquatic, and senior centers, and mailed to homes that requested it via free subscription.
The Guide, issued quarterly, serves as a comprehensive reference to all Recreation Department classes, events, activities, and programs. In addition, the Guide contains registration procedures and forms, lists community center addresses and phone numbers, and provides information about affiliated organizations such as Round House Theater, the American Film Institute, and the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission.
The Montgomery County Department of Recreation, in order to meet the growing and diverse needs of the county, provides recreation and leisure services to all communities with programs in sports, therapeutics, seniors, camps, aquatics, adventure, leisure classes, and activities for teens. The Department has 15 community centers and four indoor and six outdoor swimming pools.
Registration for all classes and programs begins the week of February 12. There are three ways to register: by mail (send to: Registrar, 12210 Bushey Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20902-1099), fax (240-777-6857 - Visa or Master Card only), or STARline (240-777-8277 - automated system for established accounts only).
