Duncan Seeks Applicants to Fill
Committee Evaluation and Review Board

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill 9 vacancies on the Committee Evaluation and Review Board. The Committee will review and evaluate the current system of boards, committees and commissions (b/c/c’s).

The Committee Evaluation and Review Board (previously known as the Committee on Committees) will review individual boards, committees, and commissions with regard to their mission, membership number and structure, overlap or duplication of mission with other b/c/c’s, orientation of new members, and effectiveness in completing their mission. Additional evaluation will include recruitment, compensation, attendance policy, training needs, and staffing levels. The County Executive and County Council appoint members to approximately sixty-five boards, committees and commissions.

After the review, the committee shall report to the County Executive and County Council regarding recommendations for changes in individual b/c/c’s and the system as a whole.

The County Executive is seeking a wide variety of applicants with diversified backgrounds. Members will serve on the Board without compensation until the work is complete (approximately two years). People who have served on boards, committees and commissions in the past, but are not currently serving on one, are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should write by November 9 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume, including home and work phone numbers, should be included. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan’s appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
