County HHS Director Receives
Award from National Group
Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Director Charles L. Short has been awarded the 2001 Directors Award for Individual Achievement from the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Human Services Administrators (NACHSA). The award recognizes a county human services director whose efforts and commitment have contributed to improved services for society’s most vulnerable individuals and to a greater awareness of the role played by human services agencies in the community.
Short received the prestigious award today at the 30th Annual Workforce Development and Human Services Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
“Chuck Short is a national leader in the field of human services,” said County Executive Douglas M. Duncan. “I commend NACo for recognizing his talent and leadership and this award is testament to that fact. The vulnerable citizens of this County have a champion in Chuck and the community is a better place to live, work and raise a family because of his work.”
Short has been with the County since 1973.
