Redskins Marching Band
Highlights Annual Holiday Parade

The Redskins Marching Band will highlight the 4th annual Montgomery County Holiday Parade to be held on December 1 in downtown Silver Spring.

The parade, featuring more than 60 units, will begin at 10 a.m. and march down Georgia Avenue to Wayne Ave. and proceed to Fenton Street, by the redeveloped area. The event traditionally marks the beginning of the holiday season throughout Montgomery County.

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan will serve as Grand Marshall and WTOP radio's "Man About Town" and Silver Spring resident Bob Madigan will be master of ceremonies.

Other marching units will include the Paint Branch High School band from Burtonsville and the Rockville High School Bagpipe Band, plus bands representing the District of Columbia from Eastern, Coolidge and Spingarn high schools.

The parade will also feature local beauty queens, scout troops, civic organizations, religious institutions, ethnic musical groups, the Potomac Classic Thunderbird Club, Round House Theatre and the YMCA.
