Bethesda Library
To Close for Major Renovations

The Bethesda Library will close for major renovations on December 31, 2001. Located at 7400 Arlington Road, the facility is expected to reopen in the spring of 2003.

Renovations include installing a new and more efficient heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system, expanding the Children's Room by 1,300 to 1,400 square feet, creating more natural light by adding windows, providing more space for computers, and in general, bringing the building into the 21st century.

For the convenience of library customers the book drop will be open until January 18, 2002. Materials also may be returned to any Montgomery County public library.

During the renovation period, Bethesda Library customers may use other public libraries, including the Chevy Chase, Davis and Little Falls libraries that are in the Bethesda vicinity.
