County Announces Expanded Hours
For Computer Recycling Program
Beginning March 12, county residents and businesses will be able to recycle old and/or unwanted computers - regardless of age or operating speed -- and all computer-related equipment seven days a week.
Central processing units, hard drives, monitors, keyboards, printers and copiers, laptop computers, wires and power cords, computer speakers, surge protectors, video cards, scanners, computer mice, software and other peripheral computer equipment may be dropped off at the County's Transfer Station, 16105 Frederick Road, Derwood. The new hours are weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Use the Route 355 entrance to the Transfer Station and follow the signs to the area where recyclable items can be brought. If delivery is made by truck, call 301-840-2371 in advance to make arrangements.
All collected material will be recycled through donations, reuse or remanufacturing. Non-computer electronic equipment or computer monitors with broken glass will not be accepted.
For more information about computer recycling, call 240-777-6410.
