For Immediate Release: January 14, 2001
Residents of the East Silver Spring area will have a chance to hear about local security preparations and ask questions about their individual concerns at a community forum to be held on Tuesday, January 22, at 7:30 p.m., at the East County Community Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring.
Entitled "Coming Together After September 11," the meeting will provide for a two-way exchange of information between local officials and residents. This is one of a series of town meetings addressing local emergency preparedness to be held around the county in January and February.
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan will moderate the meeting that will feature presentations by the County's Fire Administrator Gordon Aoyagi, Health Officer
Dr. Carol Garvey and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Kathee Henning. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
