For Immediate Release: May 2, 2002
Beginning May 5, the Montgomery County Ride On bus system will be making minor schedule changes to improve reliability. Weekday schedule changes will be made on 13 Ride On routes, including Routes 6, 14, 19, 36, 45, 54, 58, 59, 75, 80 and 93.
Due to extremely low ridership, Route 80, Shady Grove-King Farm, will be eliminated and the resources will be transferred to other services. Alternate service for Route 80 is available on Ride On Route 63, Shady Grove Station-Rockville Station. A free King Farm shuttle to the Shady Grove Metro station already serves the area.
Timetables reflecting the route changes are now available on the County's website at www.RideOnBus.com. Many other Ride On timetables have been reprinted to note the greater availability of buses with wheelchair lifts. With the addition of 120 new buses to Ride On's fleet over the last year, more than 95 percent of the buses now have lifts.
Schedules on three routes, Routes 28, 68 and 69 were already changed on April 29 to coordinate with changes to MARC train service on the Brunswick Line.
For information about Ride On schedules, call 240-777-7433, or check the Ride On website at www.RideOnbus.com.
