In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, El Teatro de Danza Contemporánea de El Salvador (TDC) will perform an original musical presentation at the Gaithersburg Library
on September 18, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
TDC will present a full concert -- three works (classical, contemporary and indigenous) accompanied by dialogue about El Salvador’s rich history, currents events and its influence on the Washington Metropolitan Hispanic/Latino community.
TDC uses dance as a tool to preserve history, to serve as a means for self-expression, and to present the fundamental values. “The Washington Post” wrote about the group “…Young
and ambitious, the Company already has a distinct style.”
“La Prensa Gráfica,” San Salvador, El Salvador, said “After 10 years of dark light, the sun is reborn for Salvadorian dance. Our dance is growing up in the bodies of our young dancers
who are working hard to open new doors….”
The library is located at 18330 Montgomery Village Avenue. For more information, call the Gaithersburg Library, 301-840-2515 or 240-777-0026 (Spanish).
