Life is so Good, by George Dawson and Richard Glaubman, is a triumph of the will to survive, prosper and never give up. Dawson, the grandson of slaves saw the 20th century as few have. He endured segregation, wars, and hardships but it wasn't until the age of 98 that he learned to read about the century he had witnessed.
The public is invited to participate in a discussion of the book and the life of George Dawson on February 13, at 7 p.m., at Gaithersburg Library. The discussion is open to adults and copies of the book will be available for participants. The program is sponsored by the Xi Sigma Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
To register, call 301-840-2515 or register in person at the library, which is located at 18330 Montgomery Village Ave.
For further information, call the library at 301-840-2515.
