The public is invited to attend the first meeting of the Long Branch Task Force on Thursday, September 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. The task force members represent homeowners, tenants, business, community and religious leaders, local schools, police and other County departments and were appointed by County Executive Douglas M. Duncan to serve three-year terms. The task force will make recommendations to the executive on actions to address issues of community concern.
Members of the community who are interested in commercial revitalization on Flower Avenue and along Piney Branch Road or are concerned about safety, housing, schools and other quality of life issues in the Long Branch area of East Silver Spring are urged to attend the meeting to meet the members of the task force, learn what’s going on and find out how they can get involved.
