For Immediate Release: October 8, 2002
Tutor.com, an online service that offers subject tutoring for students in grades four through 12, is now available at the Wheaton Library.
Twenty minute homework help sessions are offered in math, science, social studies and English from 2 p.m. to midnight, seven days a week. The service uses certified teachers, university professors, grad school students and others who have been trained and certified through Tutor.com.
A special program highlighting the service will be held from October 21 to November 1 at the library, located at 11701 Georgia Avenue. Volunteers will be available at the library to introduce students to the service.
By October 15, Tutor.com will also be available through specially reconfigured computers at the Fairland, Long Branch, Olney and Potomac branches.
For more information about Tutor.com at the Wheaton Library, call Project Manager Sandy Negro at 240-777-0673.
