MEDICAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE INFORMATION
AVAILABLE AT MID-COUNTY CENTER          For Immediate Release: June 7, 1996


     Eligible Wheaton area residents who need community and long-term medical
assistance can receive information and submit applications for help at the
Mid-County Services Center beginning June 11.
     Ethlyn Joseph-Brown, a medical assistant with the Department of Health
and Human Services, will accept applications and provide guidance on alternate
Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
     Groups covered under the program include the aged, blind and disabled;
medicare beneficiaries; and special low-income medicare beneficiaries. Others
who may receive information are families and children; pregnant women and
children; and children eligible under the Maryland Kids County program.
     The Mid-County Services Center is located at 2424 Reedie Drive in
Wheaton.  Its service area includes Wheaton, Kensington, Aspen Hill, Olney,
Norbeck, Sandy Spring and Brookeville.
