HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR
LABOR DAY                        For Immediate Release (August 26, 1996)


     Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule
for Labor Day on Monday, September 2:

     County Offices  -- closed
     Libraries -- closed 
     County liquor stores -- closed with exception of the following stores:
          Bethesda, Flower, Gaithersburg, Montrose, Muddy Branch, Pike,
          Potomac, Quince Orchard and Wheaton

     Ride-On -- Sunday schedule 

     Metrobus -- Sunday schedule 
              
     Metrorail -- Sunday schedule 

     Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters -- free

     Trash -- no collection

     Transfer Station --closed

     BOE Administrative Offices -- closed 

     Housing Opportunities Commission -- closed

     Social Services -- closed 
 
     State offices & courts -- closed
