DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS
FOR RANGE APPROVAL COMMITTEE          For Immediate Release (August 28, 1996)


     County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill four
vacancies on the Range Approval Committee.   Members should be knowledgeable
by training and experience in the safe and sportsmanlike use of weapons.  The
incumbents are eligible for reappointment.  
     The seven-member committee issues indoor and outdoor target, trap, skeet
and range shooting approval certificates which specify the time and manner of
shooting and the type of gun and ammunition which can be used on the range. 
Members serve three-year terms without compensation.  
     Applicants should write by September 20 to County Executive Douglas M.
Duncan at the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 
20850.  A brief resume, including home and work phone numbers, should be
enclosed.  Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve
on more than one such group at a time.
     Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. 
Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the
confirmation process.
