PUBLIC WORKS TO BEGIN
STORM CLEANUP; RESIDENTS MUST
SCHEDULE SPECIAL PICKUPS For Immediate Release: September 9, 1996
Special pickups of tree debris from last week's storm can be arranged by
calling the Department of Public Works and Transportation this week at
217-2159. Work crews will pickup the debris from Montgomery County homes
between September 16 and 20 only. No appointments will be scheduled after
September 13.
Residents are asked to place debris at curbside prior to the scheduled
pickup time. Residents may also place bundle tree limbs and branches in
accordance with the County's solid waste recycling procedures at curbside for
removal as part of their normal weekly recycling pickup. In addition, debris
is accepted year-round at the County's Solid Waste Transfer Station, Mondays
through Saturdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The facility is located at
16101 Frederick Road, near the intersection of Shady Grove and Frederick (RT.
355) roads in Derwood. For directions, call 840-2370.
