GLASS CEILING SEMINAR FOR WOMEN
IN SENIOR MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP          For Immediate Release: Sept. 9, 1996

     Women in senior management and leadership positions can learn some 
essential ingredients for success in breaking through the glass ceiling at a
seminar to be held on September 19 at the Commission for Women's Counseling
and Career Center.
     Included in the presentation by a three-member panel of women managers
will be managing a professional image, critical skill development and crucial
strategies and personal decisions.
     Panel members will be Carol Mehrling, chief, Montgomery County Police;
Cornelia Moore, regional administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's
Women's Bureau; and Doreen Moreira, M.D., director of the National Center for
Women Healthcare and Physician Executives.
     The seminar is part of a continuing series entitled "Women at Work,"
[resented by the Counseling and Career Center.
     Cost for the program is $7.50 for County residents; $11 for out-of-
County residents (checks or money orders, only, no cash).  The program, which
begins at 6:30, will be held at the Counseling and Career Center, 255 N.
Washington Street (NationsBank Building) 4th floor.
     Interpreters for the deaf and hard of hearing may be requested with
seven working days' notice.
