Business executives from more than 50 Montgomery County companies met
this week with embassy officials from four countries to expand their
international trade horizons.
Representatives from the embassies of Chile, Malaysia, Poland, and South

and investments in their countries. Following the roundtable, participants
met with the embassy officials for one-on-one business consultations.
This Embassy Roundtable is a clear indication of Montgomery County’s
international business leadership and County firms are on the crest of this
global wave of the future, said Montgomery County Executive Douglas M.
Duncan. Our growing competitiveness is based on promoting the success of
your County enterprises, he told participants.
Personal contacts are essential to successful trade relationships and
today’s forum will provide the connections you need to build these
relationships in four important global markets, said David W. Edgerley,
Director of the Department of Economic Development.
This event, hosted at the Executive Office Building in Rockville, was
moderated by Maryland Delegate Dana Dembrow and co-sponsored by the Suburban
Maryland International Trade Association and Montgomery County’s Department of
Economic Development, along with the Suburban Maryland High Technology Council
and five County Chambers of Commerce.
