FREE SEMINARS HELP CONSUMERS
CHOOSE HEATING AND AIR CONTRACTORS       FOR RELEASE: September 20, 1996


     As cold weather approaches, Montgomery County consumers are invited
to attend a free seminar on choosing a quality heating and air
conditioning contractor who can help them prepare their homes for the winter
home-heating season.
     The seminar will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the
First Floor Auditorium of the Stella Werner Council Office Building, located
at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville.  The event is sponsored by the Montgomery
County Department of Housing & Community Affairs and the National Capital
Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America.
    Conducted by the Division of Consumer Affairs, the seminar will cover such
topics as: choosing a quality heating, ventilating, and air conditioning
contractor; installing the proper amount of insulation; winterizing a home;
and money saving maintenance tips that homeowners can perform.
