VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TUTORING
AT SPRINGBROOK HIGH CENTER For Immediate Release: Dec. 10, 1996
Volunteers are needed to tutor K-12 students on Saturday mornings, from
8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., at the Colesville/Silver Spring Center located at
Springbrook High School.
Tutors must be available approximately 20 Saturdays during the school
year. There will be a 3-1 student-to-tutor ratio.
The program targets all students in the Colesville and Silver Spring
areas. It is structured around high academic achievement, Pan-African cultural
achievement and mentoring. The center, organized by parents and school staff
in the Springbrook cluster, is operated under the auspices of The George B.
Thomas Sr. Learning Academy, Inc., a non-profit organization.
Applications are available at schools in the Springbrook cluster. High
school students and adults interested in applying should contact Clinton
