RECYCLING/COMPOSTING
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED For Immediate Release: Jan. 9, 1997

Master Recycler/Composter volunteers are needed to help residents learn
answers to commonly asked questions such as: "Why can't I recycle plastic
margarine tubs in my blue bin?" "Where can you recycle magazines?" or "What
can I do with an old kitchen sink?"
Volunteers will answer these and other questions about recycling and
composting at weekend events throughout the area. The time commitment is
flexible.
Free training sessions will be held on February 22 and March 1 from 9
a.m. to noon at the County's Recycling Center, Route 355 and Shady Grove Road
in Rockville. Participants will learn about the County's recycling program
for "blue bin" materials, yard trimmings and special drop-offs. A tour of the
Recycling Center is also provided.
For more information on the Master Recycler/Composter Volunteer Program,
call Susanne Brunhart at 301-590-2818; e-mail to mrc@windsor.com.
