HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR 
INAUGURATION DAY AND
MARTIN LUTHER KING'S BIRTHDAY      For Immediate Release (January 15, 1997)


     Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule
for Inauguration Day and Martin Luther King's Birthday on Monday, January 20:

     County Offices  -- closed
     Libraries -- closed 
     County liquor stores -- open with the exception of the following stores:
               Cabin John; Cloverly; Fenton; Germantown; Grove; Twinbrook;
               and White Oak

     Ride-On -- Saturday schedule 

     Metrobus -- Saturday schedule 
              
     Metrorail -- Saturday schedule 

     Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters -- free

     Trash -- Regular collection

     Transfer Station -- open

     MCPS Administrative Offices and schools -- closed

     Housing Opportunities Commission -- closed

     State offices & courts -- closed
