NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR
COMMUNITY USE OF PUBLIC FACILITIES
OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARDS         For Immediate Release (April 8, 1997)

     Organizations that use Montgomery County Public Schools after school and on
weekends are invited to nominate individuals for outstanding service to the Community Use
of Public Facilities program.
     The Interagency Coordinating Board is seeking nominations through April 30 for the
Donald R. Spivack Award and the Outstanding School/Community Award Recipients
(OSCARs).
     The Spivack Award is presented to an individual who has volunteered time and talents
to promote the use of schools for community education and community service activities. 
OSCARs are presented to school staff who provide outstanding service to community
organizations that use public schools.
     Recipients will be selected by the Interagency Coordinating Board and the Citizens
Advisory Committee.
     Nomination forms are available at all public schools and at the Community Use of
Public Facilities office, 100 Maryland Avenue, room 414, Rockville.   The deadline for
submitting nominations is April 30.
