DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS TO
FILL COMMISSION ON PEOPLE
WITH DISABILITIES VACANCIES For Immediate Release: (April 24, 1997)
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill seven vacancies on
the Montgomery County Commission on People with Disabilities. The Commission advises
the County Executive on programs and services concerning the nearly 160,000 residents with
disabilities.
Three vacancies must be filled by representatives of organizations or agencies that
provide services to people with disabilities; one vacancy must be filled by a parent of a
person with disabilities; and three vacancies must be filled by individuals who have
disabilities. Three agency representatives and one person with disabilities whose terms are
expiring are eligible to apply for reappointment.
Members serve three-year terms without compensation, meeting the second Wednesday
evening of each month in Rockville. Members are expected to serve on at least one
committee or work group which meets approximately once every month on its own schedule.

Executive Office building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD. 20850. A brief resume,
including work and home telephone numbers, should be enclosed detailing pertinent
experience and business, civic or community group associations. Members of County boards,
committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
