BROWN NAMED DIRECTOR
OF EASTERN MONTGOMERY
REGIONAL SERVICES CENTER For Immediate Release (January 21, 1997)
Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer Bruce Romer today
announced the appointment of Anise Key Brown as Director of the Eastern
Montgomery Regional Services Center.
"I'm happy to name Anise Key Brown as the new director of the Eastern
Montgomery Services Center," said Romer. As acting director for the past year
and a half, she has performed admirably on behalf of the residents in the
eastern part of the County."
Brown, 43, has been serving as the acting director of the center since
October 1995. From 1992 to 1995 she served as the County Executive's
representative and coordinator of issues in the East County area. Brown
joined the County in 1988 and for four years served as the County Executive's
Black Affairs Liaison Officer.
Brown holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Barber Scotia College
(Concord, N.C.), a master's degree in sociology from Miami University (Oxford,
Ohio) and a master's degree in criminal justice from State University of New
York.
As director, Brown will be responsible for helping to oversee a host of
services provided at the Center, as well as serving as the government's
principal liaison representative to this rapidly growing part of the County.
The center is located in the Colesville Shopping Center at the intersection of
Randolph and Colesville Roads.
Brown resides in Germantown with her husband and two children.
