EAST COUNTY CENTER TO
HOST RECEPTION FOR
LOCAL AUTHOR For Immediate Release: May 8, 1997

The Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center and the Board of Directors of the
Colesville Strawberry Festival will host a reception on May 15, from 7 to 9 p.m., for Ned
Bayley, author of the newly-published book: History of Colesville. The reception will be held
at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center, 13436 New Hampshire Avenue in the
Colesville Shopping Center.
Bayley's book contains over 200-pages of research on the history of the community,
including early maps and photographs. Bayley, who has lived in Colesville for more than 40
years with his wife, Joyce, began researching the book 14 years ago when he discovered that
not much information was available about the community.
A founder and chairperson of the Colesville Community Strawberry Festival, Bayley
has also served as president and boardmember of the Greater Colesville Citizens Association.
The reception is open to the public. For reservations, call Joan Brett Kroggel at
301-989-1234.
