HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR 
MEMORIAL DAY                          For Immediate Release: May 15, 1997

     Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule for
Memorial  Day on Monday, May 26:

     County Offices  -- closed
     Libraries -- closed 
     County liquor stores -- open with the exception of the following stores:
               Cabin John; Cloverly; Germantown; Grove; Montgomery Village;
               Twinbrook; and White Oak

     Ride-On -- Sunday schedule 

     Metrobus -- Sunday schedule 
              
     Metrorail -- Sunday schedule 

     Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters -- free

     Trash -- No collection

     Transfer Station -- open

     MCPS Administrative Offices and schools -- closed

     Housing Opportunities Commission -- closed

     State offices & courts -- closed
