Small Business Conference in June For Immediate Release: May 19, 1997
Agenda 2000 -- Strategy for Growth is the theme of Montgomery County’s
upcoming technical assistance conference for small businesses and firms owned by minorities,
females and disabled persons. The conference will be held on Friday, June 20, from 8:30
a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 1750 Rockville Pike in Rockville. A registration fee
of $30 per person covers morning coffee and refreshments, lunch, and a reception.
K.B. Bruce Hamilton, President of Tracor Applied Sciences, Inc., will kick off the
conference by discussing his company's experience in adapting products and services to its
changing customers. Luncheon keynote speaker Hilton Augustine, president of GMSI, Inc.,
will relate his strategies for building his successful technology business from the ground up.
Morning and afternoon seminars will address business essentials, such as company
start-up strategies, customer attraction and retention, contracting, Internet marketing, business
plan development, cash flow management, home-based business, and partnerships. A 5 p.m.
reception, following the conference, will provide opportunities for networking and discussion.
More than 200 business owners and leaders are expected to participate in the full-day
conference. The Doubletree Hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the Twinbrook Metro
