TREE DEBRIS FROM STORM DAMAGE
IN AFFECTED COUNTY NEIGHBORHOODS
WILL BE PICKED UP AT CURBSIDE For Immediate Release: June 19, 1997
In the aftermath of Wednesday's storm, Montgomery County's Department of Public
Works and Transportation has crews working to clear tree debris from County roadways.
Crews will continue to work in the affected neighborhoods until the debris has been removed.
Beginning Wednesday, June 24, County crews will begin a special curbside pick up of
residential storm debris. Residents who have debris in their yards are asked to place the
debris at curbside. Residents may also place bundle tree limbs and branches, in accordance
with the County's solid waste recycling procedures, at curbside for removal as part of their
normal weekly recycling pickup.
In addition, debris is accepted year-round at the County's Solid Waste Transfer Station,
Mondays through Saturdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The facility is located at 16101
Frederick Road, near the intersection of Shady Grove and Frederick (RT. 355) roads in
Derwood. For directions, call 840-2370.
For more information, call 217-2159.
