ST/revenue.cm 97-20 Contact: Kathy Zieger, (30l) 2l7-2500 DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR REVENUE AUTHORITY VACANCY For Immediate Release (January 23, 1997) County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill one partial-term vacancy on the Revenue Authority. The term expires in July 2000. Persons with a finance background are especially encouraged to apply. The five-member Revenue Authority is empowered to develop, maintain and administer various self-supporting projects for the public use. Currently the Authority owns and leases the Montgomery County Airpark, operates a HUD financed retirement home with l87 units, operates four golf courses and exercises bonding authority for public facilities. Members usually serve five-year terms with compensation of $40 per meeting, not to exceed $40 a day or $1,000 a year. They are required to file confidential financial disclosure statements annually. Meetings are usually held from 6 to 8 p.m., on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in Rockville. Additional meetings are held as needed. Applicants should write no later than February 14 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume, including work and home phone numbers, should be enclosed. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time. Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council.
