SILVER SPRING LIBRARY
CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY                   For Immediate Release: June 24, 1997


     The public is invited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Silver Spring Community
Library on July 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
     Entertainment will include Agnes Saez, singer-guitarist; Ricardo Begazo Dancers,
Alice McGill, storyteller; The Old Line Four, barbershop quartet; Silver Spring Jazz,
musicians; Tighe Burke, clown; Jerry McCoy, who will talk about the restored historic post
office mural; and Valerie Tripp, author of the American Girl series.  A raffle will be held for
an American Girl doll.  There will also be a moonbounce, courtesy of City Place Mall, and
food vendors.
     The library is located at 8901 Colesville Road, Silver Spring.  For more information,
