SCHEDULING PERIOD FOR USE
OF SCHOOLS COMING IN JULY          For Immediate Release (June 25, 1997)

     Community groups planning to lease space in County public schools for programs and
activities between September 1997 through March 1998 should submit their requests between
July 1 and July 15.
     Classrooms, cafeterias, all-purpose rooms, gyms, high school auditoriums and athletic
fields are available at reasonable rates during non-school hours for instruction, recreation,
meetings and other community activities.
     Requests for weekday use and athletic fields should be submitted directly to the
school.
     Requests for Saturday, Sunday and holiday use will be accepted at the Community
Use of Public Facilities office in Rockville.  The office is located in the Council Office
Building, 100 Maryland Avenue, Room 414.  Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through
Friday.
     For help in completing request forms and calculating fees, users are invited to attend
one of two sessions  in the office on Wednesday, July 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. or Saturday, July
12 from 9 a.m. to noon.
     Request forms and fee information are available at all County public schools and the
Community Use of Public Facilities office.
