COUNTY SEEKS FANS
AND AIR CONDITIONING UNITS
FOR NEEDY, FRAIL ELDERLY      For Immediate Release:  June 25, 1997

     
     With area temperatures and humidity expected to be in the unhealthy range for the
remainder of the week, Montgomery County's Volunteer and Community Service Center and
Manna Food Center are seeking donations of used or new air conditioning units and fans to
provide relief for frail elderly and needy residents.  Persons wishing to donate working units
can take them to the Manna Food Center at 614 Lofstrand Lane in Rockville.
     Eligible residents who are having trouble coping with the heat, should contact Manna
Food at 301-424-1130.  To qualify, residents must first obtain a referral from a physician or
social worker.
