SILVER SPRING COMPANIES
FOCUS ON CUSTOMERS            For Immediate Release: July 18, 1997

     
     Silver Spring area business persons are invited to participate in a free workshop on
effective marketing, on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. at the Silver Spring Armory, 925
Wayne Avenue.  Sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Economic
Development, the Silver Spring Center and the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce,
this workshop will answer the question "Where Are the Customers?" and provide steps for
promoting local services and products.
     Christine Nasbe, president of Small Business Success, Inc., will offer tips on
developing an effective marketing plan, creating new ways of attracting customers, and
strategies for marketing throughout the metropolitan area.  Workshop participants will receive
a mini-marketing manual with a business evaluation section.
